Photography for Apartments and Condominiums
At D Morby Media, I offer Real Estate photography for all of your needs - residential home listings, apartment complexes, condominium listings, development properties, property sales, and more. When I visited this apartment in downtown Plymouth, MI, I took both real estate-style and Airbnb/short-term rental-style photos. This post highlights the real estate photos for this 2,500 square foot, historic downtown loft apartment.

Plymouth, MI Loft Apartment Photography
This loft in downtown Plymouth, MI is truly one of a kind. With over 2,500 square feet of living space on the third floor of a historic downtown building, residents enjoy cityscape views, unique design, an open-concept floorplan, and an unbeatable walking location to downtown restaurants and shops. I loved photographing this apartment in a way that showcased both the architectural and design features of the listing.
I recently upgraded my equipment to include a new wide-angle lens for real estate photography - a Sigma 10-18mm lens. For this real estate photography photoshoot, I used this lens, along with my Sony FX30 camera to capture a wide-angle of every room - including open-concept areas that are a huge selling point to potential renters. I edited the photos in Adobe Lightroom and, when we work together, I’ll provide you with high-quality edited photos like these to showcase your listings. Check out example photos below to see how I help you display and invite potential buyers into every room of the house.
Open Concept Floorplan Living Space
This apartment features a living room, dining room, and office space all open to the same common space, making it feel even bigger than it is. With hardwood floors and original brick walls, the loft has an industrial yet warm feel. As I took photos of this open-concept area, I highlighted spaces where renters or buyers would feel at home, such as the long dining room table (handmade by the residents), large couch and television area, and cozy working space. I worked with both the natural light in the afternoon and the generous lighting provided in the home.
Entryway and Hallways
Although the entryways and hallways of your listings may not feel like the most important feature, they do add to the listing and help guide potential buyers or renters through the space. This apartment features a unique entryway up three flights of stairs on the third floor of a historic downtown building. A long hallway takes residents from the main open-concept living space to the bedrooms, bathrooms, and back patio. I enjoyed photographing these passageways, choosing angles that make viewers feel at home.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
This 2,500-square-foot apartment boasts two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a unique find in a historic downtown loft. The residents utilize one bedroom as an office, exercise, and reading space, while keeping the other as a primary bedroom for living space. Both bathrooms are a great size, with the larger one feeling almost as big as another full room in the apartment. One of the bathrooms also contains private laundry machines, adding convenience for third-floor living.
Kitchen Real Estate Photography
Every buyer or renter looks for a great kitchen, so kitchen photography can make or break a real estate listing. As I’ve researched real estate photography, I’ve learned how important it is to showcase a clean, open, and organized kitchen. It’s better to clear counters, clean surfaces, and give people a picture of how much they’ll enjoy cooking and hosting in their new kitchen. This kitchen photoshoot was darker, but I still utilized both natural lighting and the apartment lighting to show off the beautiful space.
Outdoor Residential Photography
In addition to downtown views out of the expansive living room windows, this apartment loft also features a rooftop patio with multiple seating areas. Complete with string lights, this patio deck adds to the cozy yet urban vibe of the listing. I took photos of the outdoor seating areas, showcasing the relaxed city life someone might experience when renting this downtown apartment. When I work with you on real estate listings, I place a high priority on capturing the outdoor experience as well, inviting buyers and renters to imagine themselves at home in your properties.
