FAA Part 107 Drone License
If you’re planning to fly a drone for commercial (or any other non-recreational) use, you must be FAA Part 107 licensed. I recently completed this certification myself, studying using the Pilot Institute course (I would highly recommend this course if you’re looking to become certified!). It was an intense test to study for, and I took my test locally at Ace Aviation Center at the Ann Arbor Airport. Now that I’m certified, I’m really enjoying creating drone media in the local communities.

Plymouth, MI Drone Media
I’ve taken my drone up in many areas around Plymouth, MI, including downtown Plymouth in Kellogg Park. It was cool to see the park (and the Penn Theater) from an aerial view, watching the cars drive around the fountain and paths. Drone media is mesmerizing, and I love seeing the city from overhead. I also captured photos and videos in the Waterford Bend Recreation Area nearby in Northville, MI, another cool location to see two roads cross via a bridge.
Another fun drone video was of a pickleball court nearby in Livonia, MI. I enjoyed seeing the players from an overhead view, watching the ball volley back and forth in a way you can’t fully appreciate from the ground. I also captured an overhead view of the Plymouth Township Park baseball fields, noticing the patterns and beautiful horizon. Drone media is such a unique way to see the area.
