Lawrence Tech University - Campus Aerial Drone Media
After discovering my passion for audio at Calvary Baptist Church in high school, I decided to pursue my degree in audio engineering from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI. I visited multiple schools before making my choice, but ultimately chose Lawrence Tech because it was the only local school that offered an audio program. I learned a lot in my time there, completed real-world projects, and was able to capture some cool drone media along the way.
Southfield, MI Aerial Drone Media
I loved flying my drone over the university campus, capturing cool overhead shots of the football field, pathways, courtyard, and more. I also created drone videos of the Southfield, MI skyline in the setting sun. For these projects, I used my DJI Mini 2 and have since upgraded to use both the DJI Mini 4 Pro and DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine.

Audiovisual Engineering Technology B.S.
In addition to enjoying the campus aesthetics from the sky, I learned a lot through my Bachelor of Science in Audiovisual Engineering Technology. I chose Lawrence Technological University because it was the only local school that offered an audio program. As they mention on their website, this program is designed to teach areas such as:

Plymouth Rock Recording Company
One of the best parts of this degree program at Lawrence Technological University was their partnership with Plymouth Rock Recording Company in Plymouth, MI. I was able to attend multiple classes at the recording studio, learning hands-on skills and completing real-world projects. This partnership really set this degree program apart and I enjoyed working with Chris and his team.
Mobile Immersive Rig Project
I completed multiple senior year projects at Lawrence Technological University. For one of my projects, I worked with my classmates to build a mobile immersive rig. We constructed the framework out of a 20-foot-diameter truss circle, about 10 feet tall. We manufactured custom plates to attach the Kali Audio speakers to cheeseboro pipe clamps. The end result was a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos monitoring space, easy enough to take down and transport to events, demos, and for rent.
University Photography and Videography
I learned a lot in my time at Lawrence Technological University and enjoyed the opportunity to study audiovisual engineering locally in the metro Detroit area. It was fun to capture the campus from overhead, and I was able to see angles and patterns in the architecture I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
